VERSED is primarily an editorial publication geared towards fantasy, frights, fairytales, and folklore.

LOREVERSED is not a dedicated book review publication. There may not always be capacity to read a book and write a review, so requests are judged on a case-by-case basis.

Disclaimers

Reviews are subjective. All published reviews are opinion-based and honest, including, but not limited to the criticism of the work, author, or publisher.

The timeframe of a review’s publication is set by LOREVERSED, not authors or publishers.

LOREVERSED reserves the right to not finish and/or review a book obtained with the intent of being reviewed.

What if the book is unfinished?

LOREVERSED does not publish book reviews for books that were unfinished (‘DNF’).

Can a series/franchise or more than one book be requested?

One title per review request.

Preferences

Hardcovers, Trade Paperbacks, Mass Market Paperbacks, novellas, graphic novels, and eReader (or PDF) formats.

Please do not request the review of audiobooks or podcasts. This is a literature site.

The following literary genres are welcome for book review request submissions:

  • Fantasy & Magical Realism
  • Science Fiction/Sci-Fi
  • Dystopian
  • Supernatural
  • Horror & Thriller
  • Fairytales & Folklore

Please do not submit the following genres for book review requests:

  • Romantasy
  • Harlequin Romance
  • Spicy/Smut
  • Historical Fiction
  • True Crime
  • Non-Fiction
  • Westerns
  • Contemporary Fiction

Review Structure

FORMAT:
  • Graphic.
  • Title. Review | <title book> by <name author>
  • If a copy of the book was provided
  • The body of the review is comprised of thoughts on the book, which is often, but certainly not limited to, an analysis of the plot, characters and arcs, the prose, what did or did not work, and any other details considered relevant.
  • Links. Links to relevant pages, such as Goodreads and StoryGraph.

Rating System (or lack-thereof…)

The words stand for themselves and there are no arbitrary number or star rating systems.

How to request

In the event you were too lazy to hit up the ‘Contact’ page…

Email contact@loreversed.com with the subject “Review Request: [book title] by [author]” and include the following:

  • Book synopsis/description
  • Genres/subgenres
  • Length of the book (page- and/or word-count)
  • Format(s) of the book available
  • Content warnings
  • [Optional, but preferred] High resolution image of the book cover or artwork

Oh, and about “blog tours”

If you’re requesting a blog tour as part of your expedition into whether your book should be provided for review, you’ve made a wrong turn somewhere.

The answer is no. Your princess is in another castle.
